HILARY LISTER - OUR TRIBUTE

Mariners of Bewl join many others reflecting on the sad passing of Hilary Lister on the 18th August (2018). She was an inspiration to a generation of disabled sailors and we were delighted when in 2007 she agreed to be our Patron.

Her achievements are well documented and continue to stand as a benchmark for personal achievement with or without the enormous difficulties of her physical condition that she had to overcome on a daily basis.

She has demonstrated once again  that the sport of sailing and the freedom it provides for people with disabilities can be the catalyst for regaining the sense of independence often missing in their lives. It was a privilege to know Hilary and her association with MoB is immeasurable. Thank you for everything Hilary and our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
